Spring 2023 Welcome Information

Opening day is set for Saturday, April 15th! This update shares key information that you should be aware of prior to the season:

  1. Team Assignments were released during the week of March 20th. We do our best to honor requests; however, it may not be possible to honor every request as teams are structured to balance grade, age, roster size, and skill. For example, there may be 20 players that requested to be on the same team; however, the roster can only handle 12 players – making it impossible to honor every request. Friendly reminder that there are no refunds if a request cannot be honored.
  2.  Game Schedules were released during the week of March 20th and are subject to change. We have already received a few requests from members to schedule a game time around their child’s other commitments (e.g., baseball, cheer, dance, vacation). I hope members understand that we cannot accommodate or consider those requests. If you are unable to attend a game due to other commitments, please contact your coach directly.
  3. Practices (1st grade through 8th grade): Coaches will communicate practice times closer to the start of the season. All practices will be held at Oak Glen Park during the week. Note that we have no way of knowing practice times in advance of assigning you a team, so we cannot take requests for that. Be sure to write your child's name on your equipment (soccer balls, bags, etc.) to avoid lost items.
  4.  Uniforms: Each player will receive a game jersey that is worn on game day and a pair of black soccer socks. Please make sure that you player has shin-guards that can be worn under the sock, along with soccer cleats (non-metal) – sneakers are okay for Pre-K & K! Friendly reminder that all jewelry (especially earrings) will need to be removed to participate…we recommend no new piercings until after soccer season in June.
  5.  Opening Day: We are aware that April 15th is the tail end of spring break for the Howell Township Public School district. Unfortunately, the break schedule fell at an awkward time this year and the 15th was the best option.  That said, please communicate directly with your coach when you receive your assignment if you will be not be in attendance for week 1.
  6.  Game Day Information: Parking is not permitted near fire hydrants or in front of "no parking signs" on Preventorium Road. There are no concession stands, just bathroom facilities - be sure to bring water! Rainout information will be communicated by 8am on game day if needed. We can play in the rain – so this decision is based on field conditions and member safety.
  7.  Health & Safety: We are always aware of player health and safety, and remind members to do their part. Practice health and safety protocols, do not come to the games/practices if your child is sick. Follow quarantine guidance by CDC Guidelines - If your child is called out of school, do not attend practice! Do not attend if you are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test due to a potential exposure.

We look forward to an awesome season! Please contact  [email protected] with any questions in the interim.

Thank you,

Ryan Foley
