How does the volunteer program work?
HSC is a nonprofit, community-based athletic organization. We strongly rely on volunteers to help our club run efficiently and it is critical to the club’s success that we get the help needed in order to function and provide services. HSC tries to provide any adult member of a household with the opportunity to volunteer in a variety of ways, such as coaching, lining fields, assisting with special events such as hot dog day, inventory, and much more. However, we must collect a volunteer deposit to ensure that all necessary positions and jobs are fulfilled.

Therefore, as part of your registration process you are required to submit a $60 volunteer deposit (one per family/household), which will be refunded at the completion of the Parent Participation Program. For a complete list of available volunteer activities or for more information about the volunteer program, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteers@howellsoccerclub.com.

When is game day and how often are practices?
The season begins on Saturday, April 14, 2012 and will end on Saturday, June 16, 2012.
Games are played at Oak Glen Park and are held once a week on Saturdays. Practices for the Instructional, Pee Wee, Novice and Advanced Divisions are also held once a week, but the day, time and place will vary depending on the coach. Shin-guards are required for practice.  Practices for Future Stars 1 and 2 Divisions take place 15 minutes before game time at the fields on game day.

Coaches will call players by April 4, 2012 with team and practice information.

What should my child wear for game day?

HSC provides each player with a team shirt and soccer socks (these go over the shin guards). You are responsible for providing your child with black shorts, shin guards (mandatory), and the proper foot attire (i.e., soccer cleats/spikes). The Future Stars 1 and 2 Divisions may wear sneakers.

ABSOLUTELY NO jewelry (rings, chains, watches, earrings), hard plastic or metal items in hair, braces or cast on arms or legs are allowed to be worn during game play or practice.
